Dine on Auckland's best tapas and relax with a glass of wine, a chilled beer, or a delicious cocktail. La Zeppa is situated at 33 Drake St Freeman's Bay, directly behind Victoria park market. The music is mastered by local DJs at the weekends; they ensure it is played for their customers each evening, not themselves.
La Zeppa focuses on the fact that people want to enjoy each others company with a great glass of wine and tasty plates, without the constraints of having to book or have a meal at a certain time - it is the ultimate meeting place - a catch up over a glass of wine, a sit down meal or a function for a large group of friends or colleagues.

The capable staff provide sparkling water on the house (a Hip Group standard), as well as cosy blankets for outdoor diners. Food is under the direction of ethically minded executive chef Jo Pearson, with much of the produce grown at the Hip Group’s farm out west. TATSUMI RESTAURANT
61-73 Davis Crescent, Newmarket, Auckland| 09-529 4422
We are Yoko and Koichi of TATSUMI. We moved from Christchurch to Newmarket, Auckland in Oct 2011. We had great customers and they gave us a lot of positive reviews. However, the old TATSUMI was in the red zone which is still not open to the public even today. It was the customers who gave us the courage to relocate to Auckland.
We suggest customers experience our meals in a three-course style; entree, main, and dessert. Our food is very original with extra flavors and surprises. It is a European-inspired Japanese fusion style based on Koichi's 17 years of experience as a chef. Koichi worked at many hotels and restaurants both in Japan and in NZ, such as Crowne Plaza Hotel, Remarkable Lodge in Queenstown and The George Hotel in Christchurch. A lot of our plates present a very nice mix of originality and authenticity.

CAZADOR
854 Dominion Rd, Balmoral, Auckland | 09-620 8730
Cazador has long been championed by its loyal followers, but in the two years since Dariush Lolaiy took over the reins from his father Tony, he and wife Rebecca Smidt have deservedly earned this neighbourhood eatery some serious recognition on the often-unforgiving Auckland dining scene. A refit has modernised the place, revamping the bar and adding an enclosed courtyard, while cleverly retaining the original restaurant’s eclectic, bohemian feel. The impressive array of taxidermy remains, as does the game focus of the menu, such as boar chop with witloof and creamy anchovy dressing. It’s not all game, though – a simple broad bean soup impressed recently, as did a dessert of bay leaf ice-cream with pine nut shortbread. Service, led by Smidt, is engaging, and the drinks list features an impressive array of sherries.
