The Grove has secured itself as one of Auckland’s top restaurants with a unique approach to both food and service. With a passion for and expertise in the industry, owners Michael and Annette Dearth have gained outstanding recognition for the creation of its fine dining oasis. Head chef, Benjamin Bayly has already experienced an illustrious career by landing senior chef roles at Michelin starred restaurants in London and France (The Ledbury & The Square, London: Restaurant Jean-Paul Jennet, France). Benjamin’s food is modern in style whilst using classic French cooking techniques. The Grove is very ingredient driven using organic and sustainable meats and seasonal fruits and vegetables. During Ben’s duration at The Grove, the restaurant has been awarded Supreme Winner of the Metro Audi Restaurant of the Year for 2010 & 2011.

OSTRO

Ostro is a stunning dining space designed by Fearon Hay, on the second floor of Seafarers with sweeping views of the harbour. Ostro will serve uncomplicated New Zealand brasserie food and all day breakfast. Josh Emett's menu celebrates everything that is good about local ingredients - always fresh and in season, and offering a superb selection or premium New Zealand meats. A large raw bar will be a key feature of the Ostro offering - high quality fresh seafood, straight off the boat. Marie Colosimo runs the team at Ostro with Executive Chef Cobus Klopper making sure everything leaving the kitchen looks as good as it tastes. High on the second floor looking back over Britomart towards the city lights, The City Terrace is the casual side of Ostro and a destination in its own right, great for lunch, a casual dinner, late night drinks. An exciting indoor/outdoor bar mixing amazing cocktails with a small-plate, Mediterranean menu,

TOM TOM

Elevated above Victoria Park, affording northern views through treetops, the restaurant is the brainchild of Dayna Siarkiewicz and Andrew Clapham (of Herne Bay Local fame), and the space has been brought to life under the creative guidance of interior designer Danielle Bates. 

Head Chef Fraser Shenton has devised a menu for both lunch and dinner that’s based upon an ethos of creative fine dining in comfortable, unpretentious surrounds.

There’s a definite seafood bent here, in keeping with the space’s breezy outdoor environs.

The good old number 8 wire bedrock that has allowed us to build machines and craft ideas in our garages and sheds, studios and warehouse - New Zealanders have calved out our own 'little Empire' in this corner of the South Pacific. Taking inspiration from the Industrial era and the processes that allow us to forge ahead, The Crown is the 1st establishment of the Little Empire Brewery and eating house brand, with an on-site microbrewery producing a Pilsner, Golden lager and Pale Ale with seasonal varieties to be added later down the track.  The menu is rustic, hardy pub fare with all main dishes being served as either half, full or share sizes, perfect for all types of gatherings, little or large. This big, beautiful, comfortable bar is exactly the kind of establishment you want just around the corner from your place. An airy, high-ceilinged space with plenty of cosy seating, it’s stocked to the gunnels with good things to eat, drink and look at.

A hundred and thirty years ago it was the HQ of the Northern Steamship Company of New Zealand. Today, beautifully restored, it’s one of Auckland’s finest heritage buildings.

With plenty of lovingly preserved historic detail and an engagingly eccentric contemporary fitout, this is a bar to explore as well as a place to meet, hang out and enjoy a drink.

SNAPDRAGON

A blend of 1930s vintage glamour and West Hollywood lounge with a healthy shot of private gentlemen’s club, Snapdragon is spacious yet offers a real sense of intimacy across its areas. All 3 bars and the dining room have their own unique personalities, and sweeping inner harbour views from every vantage point. The ground floor dining room serves a contemporary bistro menu from its 45 seats, with a further 14 seated at the beautiful banquet table.
