The restaurant draws on Nic's exceptional pedigree, experience he has gained from running highly successful robata restaurants in London, Macau, Hong Kong and America. Robata is contemporary Japanese cuisine cooked over a charcoal grill where theatre and drama are as much of the process as the eating. COCORO

56a Brown Street, Ponsonby, Auckland City | 09-360 0927

Cocoro means 'the heart and soul' in Japanese, we have chosen this name because we aim at providing our food and service with all our heart and soul. cocoro is located on a quiet side street off the busy Ponsonby Road, in an old brick building. The restaurant seats a maximum of 40 people with tables along the walls, and a large communal table in the middle.  The large communal table is designed so that couples or smaller groups sit on the same side next to each other for a more intimate experience.  At dinner service, we place our focus on providing an "ichi-go ichi-e" experience with our course menus, therefore reservations are only taken with either the Degustation course or the Sushi Sashimi course.  A la carte menu is available for dinner with our 'Tapas' menu but reservation will not be taken. We are also open for lunch services with a la carte menu, reservations are welcome.

After ten years at "ACQUAPAZZA", Kazuya decided to move to New Zealand to challenge himself in a completely foreign environment. Since this move he successfully worked as head chef at the award winning restaurant "Rice" and sister restaurant "CIBO",which are both Asian fusion styled restaurants located Aucklan's CBD. Kazuya own culinary roots have been inspired by New Zealand’s multi cultural society and the diversity of, dining experiences in this country. TATSUMI RESTAURANT

61-73 Davis Crescent, Newmarket, Auckland| 09-529 4422

We are Yoko and Koichi of TATSUMI. We moved from Christchurch to Newmarket, Auckland in Oct 2011. We had great customers and they gave us a lot of positive reviews. However, the old TATSUMI was in the red zone which is still not open to the public even today. It was the customers who gave us the courage to relocate to Auckland.
We suggest customers experience our meals in a three-course style; entree, main, and dessert. Our food is very original with extra flavors and surprises. It is a European-inspired Japanese fusion style based on Koichi's 17 years of experience as a chef. Koichi worked at many hotels and restaurants both in Japan and in NZ, such as Crowne Plaza Hotel, Remarkable Lodge in Queenstown and The George Hotel in Christchurch. A lot of our plates present a very nice mix of originality and authenticity.
