Baduzzi offers an Italian fix with a stop-off in New York for styling and menu tips. It’s a labour of love for owner Michael Dearth (above right), who also owns The Grove. Benjamin Bayly (centre, sporting a Movember look with Baduzzi head chef Glen File) is executive chef at both eateries and his innovation and dedication shine through in Baduzzi’s rustic yet labour-intensive menu as much as in the dishes he creates at the more formal offering. Baduzzi means meatballs and here they are taken seriously. Well-seasoned crayfish and savoy cabbage meatballs served with a gutsy carrot sauce are very good, as are the grilled Wagyu versions with onion gravy and salsa verde. Other stars included buttered maltagliati with duck and porcini ragu and quality wood-fired meats. Knowledgeable staff guide you through a wine list rich with lesser-known Italian imports.

After 21 years Toto Restaurant has closed it’s door at 53 Nelson Street to make way for TOTO PIZZA which has now moved upstairs which a slight refit to make it more casual and to follow in the lines of a true Italian Pizzeria which includes serving the Toto Metre long. We would like to thank everyone that dined with us a Toto over the 20+ years and thank all that supported us to assist with the winning of numerous awards. We have keep all our staff, the original classical and marble Toto furniture so you may see us pop up at a different location in the future. We have also opened our new flag ship restaurant FARINA, located at 244 Ponsonby Road which has no phone, reservations but is open 7 days from 12 noon for Yum Caio and then a full menu from 5pm. We also have upgraded 3 levels of kitchens as we still cater for functions at Toto Function and event centre as well as out catering with dishes from our great Toto recipes.

Non Solo Pizza operates as a cosmopolitan brasserie serving divine pizzas, truly authentic Italian specialties and fine wines. Situated in the heart of Parnell Village Non Solo Pizza undoubtedly has the prettiest garden setting in Auckland and is open all day serving up to 80 dinners outside and 90 dinners inside.
Walking in to NSP is a visual feast with a cool street-facing bar at the front opening out into the beautiful mosaic walled courtyard the mix of traditional and contemporary is evident in both food and ambience. From the displays of preserved vegetables, fresh bread, the pizza oven and the contorni window, to the stacks of firewood around the marble fireplace, Non Solo Pizza is a place to feel good in.

FARINA

They’ve designed a space that is gorgeous with its sea-green and pearly white tile work, Warhol-esque artwork of Mt Vesuvius erupting in colour, shelves laden with gleaming jars of house-made pickles and preserves, and the impressive pasta machine taking pride of place in the open kitchen.
Diners can take a seat on the plush red corduroy banquet, at one of the communal wooden tables or can perch at the long marble counter, and choose dishes from the pastificio (fresh pasta station), salumeria with its cured meats and cheeses sliced to order, as well as from the pizzeria which will of course feature the famous Toto Italian pizza-by-the-metre and slow-cooked porchetta sandwiches. And there will be sardines, eggplant parmigiano, a daily ragu, skewered meats cooked over charcoal and much more. Farina, fresh and simple – we like that.

Piccoli Piatti’s menu is available at all times with a selection of modern Italian inspired cuisine, our charcuterie is sliced to order, pasta is hand made and we use only seasonal, fresh produce.
Our focus is on small plates of delicious food to be shared, our pasta dishes are available as small or large plates. We also offer a selection of large plates, side dishes and of course desserts.

Neighbourhood celebrates the craft of beer with the full range of Mac's beers available on tap including all the seasonal releases. All tap beer is served at the perfect temperature and with the perfect pour, all matched up with fantastic meals and platters to share from our menu.
The soundtrack has been well crafted like the brews on tap, with Auckland's finest DJ's, playing Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday arvo, taking you through lazy afternoons and late nights.
