​PAUANUI BEACH - Pauanui
Pauanui Beach is situated in one of New Zealands most affluent beach locations, with development always in effect.
Pauanui Beach offers a golden sand beach with a slow incline and few facilities such as a toilet, shower and car parking. The township offers cafes and a supermarket.
Lifesaving services are available during summer and school holidays.

​ONEMANA BEACH - 10km's North of Whangamata
Onemata Beach is a popular beach with locals and holiday makers.
The beach doesn't have high surf, but swells are not uncommon.
The beach has good facilities including a kiosk, public toilets and car parking.
Lifesaving services are on hand during summer and school holidays.

HOT WATER BEACH
- 8km South of Hahei Beach

Hot Water Beach is located 8km's south of Hahei Beach. The beach is extremely popular with tourists and New Zealanders for its thermal springs which run beneath it. Here, at low tide, you'll be able to dig a hole in the sand and enjoy hot thermal water at the oceans edge.
The beach is safe for swimming and is popular for surfing and boogy boarding. The beach has good facilities including a kiosk, public toilets, shower and car parking. Surf lifesaving services are on-hand during summer and school holidays.

GOLF - Coromandel & Surrounds

What's better while on that holiday than relaxing in the warm temperate climate Coromandel has to offer, playing golf and enjoying one of the many beautifully designed golf courses at some of the best luxury resorts in the Coromandel region.

​COROMANDEL MINING & HISTORIC MUSEUM
- Coromandel Town
The Coromandel Mining & Historic Museum's focus is on the heart of mining within the region. The museum houses collection's covering early goldmining, photographs, geological specimens, kauri logging and general local history. The old Coromandel jailhouse is a popular attraction.

​HISTORICAL MUSEUM - Thames
The Thames Historical Museum is set in a park setting and consists of a wide variety of historic displays from period rooms of the 1800's, Maori Artifacts and photo's,
the regions gold mining history, World War relics and Kauri displays through to bicycle displays, farming, railway exhibits, china displays and early hospital and medical displays.

MERCURY BAY MUSEUM - Whitianga

The Mercury Bay Museum hosts a variety of displays relating to the areas local history with exhibits about Kupe the Polynesian navigator, Maori Artifacts, James Cook & the Endeavour, The HMS Buffalo which sunk in 1840, The history of Kauri Timber and the use of its gum as well as the history of the museums building, the Old Dairy Factory.
There is also an extensive collection of early settlers records and photos, natural history displays and a display relating to the history of fishing.

SCHOOL OF MINES & MINERALOGICAL MUSEUM - Thames
​The School & Museum houses an extensive collection of NZ rocks, minerals and fossils with tours of the buldings conducted by the Historic Places Trust. The oldest section, constructed in 1868, was part of a Methodist Sunday school and is situated on a Maori burial ground.

KARANGAHAKE GORGE WALKWAY - Karangahake
​The Karangakake Gorge Walkway is full of gold mining relics and offers a multitude of walkways for you to sight the Coromandels gold mining history of the 1800's. There is the Waikino Cafe and Visitor Centre situated in the gorge where you'll find displays of the attractions within the Karangahake Gorge Area.
Location: State Highway 2, 7.5km's from Waihi and 15km's Paeroa.
