KAIKOURA MUSEUM - Kaikoura
The Kaikoura Museum offers a small museum which houses exhibits and displays related to the history of the area. Exhibits include Maori settlements, whaler exhibits, farmers and fishermen exhibits.

FYFFE HOUSE - Kaikoura
Fyffe House is Kaikoura’s oldest surviving building which is built upon foundations of whale vertabrae. The house was built by Scotsman George Fyffe, cousin of Kaikoura’s first European settler, Robert Fyffe in 1842. The house started as a small cottage in 1842. The house consists of many original items including the original brick oven, historical displays and gardens.

ST BARTHOLOMEWS CHURCH - Kaiapoi
St Bartholomew's is Canterbury's oldest church building. The church its sanctuary and the transepts date back to 1862 and were designed by Benjamin Mountfort.

DIVING - Kaikoura
Kaikoura offers a diverse sea life, abundant with whales, dolphins and a variety of fish and crustaceans. ​MAYFAIR THEATRE - Kaikoura
The Mayfair Theatre was purpose built in 1935, and is a community project. The theatre offers a variety of cinema shows and comfortable seating. The theatre is designed in Art Deco fashion which has been preserved since its intial contruction.

WHALE WATCH - Kaikoura

Whale watching in Kaikoura is a popular tourist attraction with tours operators who offer the opportunity to view these magnificent creatures from the ocean or from the air. Ocean viewing offers an upclose experience with the whales as well as an on-board display illustrating the Kaikoura undersea canyon which is home to the whales, while from the air gives you the expanse and ability to view their full size and the surrounding environment.

KAIKOURA PENINSULA WALKWAY - Kaikoura

The Kaikoura Peninsula walkway offers several walks. which can be traversed on the Walkway. The walk offers a number of historic pa sites, one of which near South Bay is the largest defensive enclosure in the South Island. POINT KEAN SEAL COLONY - Kaikoura

Point Kean Seal Colony is situated at the end of the peninsula. Here you'll find seals lazing around in the grass and on the rocks basking in the attention.
Its advisable to stay 10m away from the seals in the car park, never get between them and the sea – they will attack if they feel cornered. The seals you'll find in the car park are males, on the rocky platforms out from the car park are females and their pups.
