BARK BAY - Abel Tasman National Park
Bark Bay is situated in Abel Tasman National Park and is a popular lunch spot whilst on the Abel Tasman Track. The beach offers golden sand and clear water.
There is a hut available for those days when the weather fails and beach access is not preferred. Please visit the website below for a map of the Abel Tasman Track, water taxis are also available for direct access to the beach.

TONGA ISLAND - Abel Tasman National Park
Tonga Island is situated just off-shore from Onetahuti Beach. The island is a sanctuary for New Zealand fur seals. If you wish to get up close with the seals (20m distance) there are some tour operators who hold a licence allowing close proximity via kayak. Medlands Beach is accessible off the Abel Tasman Track. A popular beach for that day or two camp. The beach offers beautiful white sand & clear water for that snorkeling experience. The website below gives details on how to get there via the Abel Tasman Track.

ONETAHUTI BEACH - Abel Tasman National Park
Onetahuti Beach is among the many beautiful beaches on offer in the Nelson Tasman Region. The Beach is considered a beautiful camping spot on the Abel Tasman Track. As you can see the beach is very wide and has caves at one end which house glow worms for that night excursion, the caves are reported to have Maori symbols.
There is also a small cold freshwater pool nearby. View the website below for access via the Abel Tasman Track. Water taxis are available for direct access to the beach.

TONGA ISLAND MARINE RESERVE

Tonga Island Marine Reserve is situated alongside the Abel Tasman National Park. Here you'll find an abundance of local tourist support enabling all of your marine activities. The area is famous for its beautiful weather, golden sand beaches and delightful coves. Tonga Island also offers a New Zealand fur seal colony for you to visit.

GOLDEN BAY - Golden Bay
Golden Bay is one of New Zealand's popular holiday destinations. The region offers golden beaches and alpine valleys with close proximity to the sea. Here you'll take in the beautiful scenery and endulge in the arts and crafts on offer by the locals. There are a multitude of walks available which will take you through the adjacent National Park giving you the chance to glimpse or endulge in one of the beautiful bays in the area. Access to Golden Bay can be gained either by car or one of the water taxis available.

THEATRE ROYAL - Nelson
Nelson’s historic Theatre Royal is one of the oldest wooden theatres in New Zealand. Listed by the Historic Places Trust the building was built in 1878 and remains very largely in its original condition. The theatre was closed in 2005 and reopened on June 18, 2010 after two and a half years of re-building and restoring. The theatre hosts a variety of shows, please visit the website for more information, prices and showing times.

NELSON SCHOOL OF MUSIC - Nelson
The Nelson School of Music is situated in Nile Street established in 1994.
The school is housed in a fine heritage building and is renowned for its acoustics. The school is a community based performing arts and music education centre which hosts a couple of festivals; The annual Winter Festival and The Adam Chamber Music Festival in February, showcasing local, national and international musical talent. REFINERY ARTSPACE - Nelson
Refinery Artspace aims to support local artists. They hold regular events and exhibitions providing the community with contemporary art space, they also have an established retail gift and art gallery. The Refinery also hosts "Art on Halifax" an arts market on Sundays in their sculpture garden, this is an opportunity for artists to present their works in a relaxed vibrant and colourful atmosphere, fun for the whole family and a relaxed afternoon out. The market will operate Sunday's 1st December to the last Sunday in April.

Abel Tasman National Park is a picturesque area consisting of clear watered beautiful bays, rivers and lush forests. The park is the smallest in NZ having a coverage of 225.3 km2 (87.0 sq mi) (55,699 acres), and is bounded to the north by Golden Bay and Tasman Bay.
